VegetationVitality - Monitoring utilizes scientifically validated and industry-accepted multispectral vegetation indices to deliver fundamental information about the overall health of vegetation. These indices utilize physically-based mathematical formulas to transform multispectral remote sensing imagery into maps depicting measurable vegetation conditions such as quantifiable biomass, overall vigor, productivity or yield, and stress.
Product Description
VegetationVitality - Monitoring is the perfect solution for anyone in the agricultural field looking to use advanced analytics to make smarter decisions that will save time and expenses. VegetationVitality enables users to quickly get actionable information and reports, useful for many different fields and industries, including agriculture, forestry, climate change analytics, logging, recreation planning, and more. VegetationVitality provides a time series of maps for your area of interest, to track changes in plant growth over time. For this, each suitable Landsat-8 or Sentinel-2 data set acquired within the defined time period will be analyzed. Vegetation indices can be selected, according to how responsive they are to various vegetation types and environmental conditions.
The outputs include a Summary Analytics Report, a color-coded map of vegetation index values, and a color-coded map of discretized vegetation values in five classes. A shapefile of discretized vegetation index values, a greyscale map of raw vegetation index values, and the true color input image for each time period are also provided. VegetationVitality outputs are ready for immediate visual interpretation and direct incorporation into reports, presentations, or for further analysis.

Product details
Monitoring is based on Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2 satellite images. The resolution of the satellite determines the resolution of the resulting map. The revisit time of 5 days for Sentinel-2 and 16 days for Landsat 8 define the maximum update frequency. Whenever an image take is available over a selected area, and the cloud coverage is below 20%, a new VegetationVitality map is generated. On average, biweekly or monthly updates will be available.
Different vegetation indices are more responsive to different vegetation types and environmental conditions. VegetationVitality offers multiple execution options to meet a variety of project needs.
- Standard Vegetation Index (NDVI - Normalized Difference Vegetation Index)
- Alternative Standard Index (GNDVI - Green Normalized Difference Vegetation Index)
- Dense/High Biomass Vegetation (EVI - Enhanced Vegetation Index)
- Diverse/Highly Variable Vegetation (NLI - Non-Linear Index)
- Sparse Vegetation (SAVI - Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index)
- Relative Chlorophyll Concentration (TGI - Triangular Greenness Index) *beta
